So, I see that drivers are using more gas despite the increase in prices. Just today it came time for me to fill up so I stopped by one of our local station (all the same price, so no real affinity for one or the other as far as that goes – Casey’s has good peanut butter cookies, so I stopped in there this time
). Noticed the price had went up a few cents since the last time I filled up, but really didn’t think all that much about it – I drive a reasonably efficient minivan (28 mpg last I bothered checking), and my daily commute is all of a mile if that, so I honestly don’t give a damn what gas prices are unless I’m, say, taking off on a cross country driving vacation. Even then, what am I really able to do about it outside of, well, not going, so I don’t really give a damn then either (stressing over things I have no control over is a waste of my time, so I don’t).
But today I got a good laugh to go with my gas (and cookie) – a skinny middle-aged women ranting and raving about the nickel price raise on her gas while she tops off her brand spanking dealer-tags-still-on-it new 2005 Suburban. With the Tahoe owner next to her nodding along. Bitching about the extra buck fifty it’s costing to fill those 14mpg behemoths you’re driving? You’d think you would have maybe thought of fuel costs before you plunked down that $40,000+! Bwahahahaha…
