Cheating Tax Preparers

by Sean

Wow!

“We can make up a kid and put it in there, just to show you, if you want to do that.”

All I have to say is, this is the type of tax prep work you get from someone who’s experience consists of a few classes taken at the franchise. Many moons ago, I took one of those classes from a large national chain I won’t name. As I recall, ethics wasn’t a big topic of discussion.

Let me go out on a limb and hazard a guess that the desire to get a client the biggest possible refund has little to do with actually helping out the client, and more to do with, say, refund anticipation loan fees.

Now now, I didn’t say to do that!

We’re not all bad (just the chains);)
