Tax Season 2006 Winds Down

by Sean

Just a few more hours to go, and we can put Tax Season 2006 in the books. Just wrapping up a few loose ends on a handful of clients who can’t seem to be able to keep all their financial documents in any sort of order. I’m sure I’ll also deal with a client or two today who mistakenly believes that filing an extension also means that they can delay paying what they owe, which is always just oh-so-fun to explain. But for practical purposes, I’m essentially done! :)

This year went fairly smoothly overall. We had our February chaos, as always, which makes for a fairly stressful month. But you’ve got to enjoy the stress a bit if you’re going to be a tax [tag]accountant[/tag]. The rest of tax season has been (comparatively) low key – not that we weren’t busy, but a few years worth of experience sure does wonders!

Tonight’s itinerary? Some BBQ’n, a drink or three, and a nice cigar with my fellow accountants & their spouses. And – for the first time in a couple months – an early bed time!

Oh, and I should probably do my [tag]taxes[/tag] sometime today… ;)
