I still get those blank checks all the time too. It started with MBNA/BoA, but now it appears CapitalOne and Citi have jumped on the bandwagon as well. I want to keep the BoA accounts open for the same reasons, but that's another envelope every month that I have to be looking out for and make sure it gets to the shredder.
